A common phrase we hear is, “Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet”. You could say the same for mainstream media or any of a thousand sources. So, how do you know what’s true and how can you be sure?
Depending upon the extent and depth of your spiritual sadhana (spiritual disciplined practice), it’s easy to feel confident in what’s true and what’s not. The deeper your spiritual sadhana, the easier it will be for you to feel clear about what’s true.
Validate the Truth
How do you validate that what you know is true when you consider the idea? If you feel tremendous aliveness and vitality even if the news you’re presented with is not encouraging, you can feel assured that it’s the truth. If the idea resonates within you, it is the truth. If underneath the idea you feel a tingling happiness, even with disturbing news, it’s the truth. A lie will never resonate within you–if you’re a clear soul. That is, if you’ve purified your mind through spiritual disciplined practice.
One of the greatest benefits of practicing a spiritual discipline is to bring yourself into an inner clarity where you can easily differentiate the truth from the lies. And, in this age at this time, that is an essential tool for your spiritual warrior toolset.
What Spiritual Discipline to Practice
There are a host of spiritual disciplines to practice, but the most effective are those that call out your spirit, cause you to feel compassion for others, and are practiced daily over much time. Give yourself time before you consider your results. Judge an excellent spiritual discipline by how much it expands your mind, enlarges your heart, strengthens your physical body, increases your intelligence, encourages your creativity or draws onto you synchronistic experiences. Any of these touchstones will validate whether or not you’ve discovered a practice that is truly yours.
Be a Standing Spiritual Warrior
Once you’ve armed yourself with the truth and feel confident in your ability to self-discover it under all circumstances, you’re prepared to be a standing spiritual warrior. As a spiritual warrior you’ll be ready to battle any inequities, deception, greed or controlling behaviors whether they attack you from within or without.
The greatest way to battle these enemies of man is to stand strong and hold a fierce attitude of justice simply by your personal presence. You need not necessarily do more than that. But, you’ll know under any circumstances how to behave once you’ve secured this essential truth discovery tool.
