What is Holographic Awareness
We imagine that the cosmos is unified, and that we live in a unified field where everything exists. This field is intimately and always connected to everything else. We are in the midst of discovering the deeper nature of the cosmos as a holographic universe, and discovery has a profound relationship upon our daily experience. We could imagine that the nature of holographic awareness is like a Star Trek holodeck … quite a concept.
Holographic Awareness in a Psychic Skills Study
Talbot tells a story of Anne and Bill, two graduate students who participated in a study conducted by Charles Tart at the University of California Davis (UCD).Tart believed that the rapport that existed between them would allow them to explore the boundaries of the experiment. In a trance state, both Anne and Bill described their experience of being on a stunning beach. Tart conducted this experiment as a series, and each time, Anne and Bill were able to replicate their shared hypnotic state. How amazing is that?
Anne and Bill’s ocean world is a perfect example of a holographic reality where “… a three-dimensional construct (is) created out of interconnectedness, sustained by the flow of consciousness, and ultimately as plastic as the thought processes that engendered it”.
Doesn’t it make you wonder how real our daily experience is, and what is the relationship between our three states of consciousness (waking, dream, and deep sleep) if their hypnotic experience could be shared.
Diane Takes Part in a UCD Psychic Skills Study
Like Anne and Bill, when I attended UCD, I was selected to participate in a similar study. A group of graduate students conducted an experiment on psychic skills during a Psychology lecture class. After testing at the highest rate in the class, I was singled out for further experimentation, and agreed to participate in further studies.
For several weeks, they tested me in an isolated room using several techniques, and I wasn’t given the results of these tests. It was an interesting experience, but seemed rather crude and simplistic. These tests have probably become more sophisticated over the years. But, I did personally identify with Talbot’s account of Anne and Bill’s experience at UCD.
Our Unified Cosmos
We began with the idea that the cosmos is unified, and that underlying this reality is a unified field within which everything exists. Imagine that this field is intimately and always connected to everything else.
It is a fascinating idea to be living in a holographic universe where our reality is like a malleable holodeck. This would explain the psychic skills studies at the University of California Davis.
These ideas form a sacred web of thoughts. Let’s continue to peel back the layers so that we may discover the deeper nature of the cosmos. And, we are poised to do just that.
